The project "Modernization of the Rokycany - Pilsen" is part of a national III . Railway Transit Corridor - West . The construction is in accordance with the Government Resolution No. 885 of 13 July 2005 and also fits into the concept of trans-European transport networks by the European Commission . It is dealt with in accordance with the requirements for interoperability of the European railway network. Preliminary design and construction project prepared by a joint stock company SUDOP Prague

Estimated realization: 2013 - 2018

Description of the building : The building addresses the modernization of tracks leading from Rokycan to stop Ejpovice mostly along the existing track bed . Among Ejpovice and stop Plzeň Doubravka is then solved by relaying the track completely out of the current route and the route passes the railway station Chrást near Pilsen . Relaying is conducted in accordance with the prospective location VRT for new land , the terrain formations Homolka and Chlum is conducted in tunnels. Length of two single-track tunnels from the eastern to the western portal, the portal is 4.150 m length of the line to shorten by about 6100 m from the bus to the railway station Plzeň Plzeň Doubravka hl.n. is to use existing route of the railway . Technical parameters of the upgraded lines were chosen with regard to the future use of the tunnel section for VRT. Connection corridor route towards the railway station Chrást near Pilsen ( further to the Town Hall) will be retained as a monorail , branching will be carried out from the newly built railway station Ejpovice .

The purpose of the building is primarily to achieve higher technical parameters corridor lines , incl . shortening travel times of trains and increase the safety of railway operations. At the same time , increase passenger comfort . Will achieve the desired passage capability of the line category D4 UIC loading gauge UIC - GC , ensuring the required throughput modernization of the existing security system and increase the maximum line speeds up to 160 km / h The outlook is then considered with speeds up to 200 km / h , from the site of presumed connection to VRT conventional route to the west portal of the tunnel , which is a long stretch of approximately 4 km .

The proposed horizontal and vertical alignment routes and the resulting structural modifications have been achieved in the Rokycany - Ejpovice line speed of 120 km / h and the relocation of Ejpovice 160 km / h for classic car unit and the speed of 160 km / h for units with tilting throughout section . In the section of track before entering Plzeň railway junction , where there is a drop line speed following the transition to a speed of 80 km / h , which is considered as a minimum for the transit railway junction Plzeň after its modernization. At present, the entrance to the node speed limited to 20 km / h

The prime objective of corridor construction on the shoulder from Prague to Pilsen to achieve running time under 1 hour from the main train station in Prague main railway station in Pilsen and also in the opposite direction. In the very section Rokycany - Pilsen is expected compared to the current state of time savings for trains and R Sp about 9 minutes.

The key issue is the construction of two single-track tunnels , connected to each other by corridors . The building will also be built new or renovated existing bridges and culverts .

Passenger comfort will be increased by the construction of new platforms with platform edge at a height of 550 mm above the rails, the platform will be with wheelchair access and are equipped with bars for the visually impaired . Stations and stops will be equipped with new lighting equipment and information for travelers.

To ensure continuity and safety of railway operation will be the construction of the new station and line signaling system with remote control and the corresponding construction of telecommunication and transmission equipment . It is expected that traffic will be controlled by the dispatcher of the railway station Rokycany, in the future, then from the central office in Prague.
Particular attention was paid to security operations in the tunnel. Draft tunnel equipment and fire- technical solution meets all the requirements of our rules and regulations, including TSI.

The project includes the reconstruction and construction of new overhead lines , renovation of stations and stops lighting and the construction of an electric heater switches to the selected exchanges including follow-up dispatching control technology heavy .

The construction further construction of noise walls, designed by a noise study and possible implementation of individual noise protection measures.
